The Objective.  Building a connection with Gen Z and Millennials takes more than one campaign. Following the success of #WhatMovesUs, Panasonic needed to go deeper — not just introduce the brand to a new generation, but give them a reason to stay. With the Olympics on the horizon, the timing was right to find the bridge between Panasonic's brand values and the people this audience already admired.
The Insight. Gen Z doesn't just follow athletes — they follow values. Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, Nathan Chen, and Sakura Kokumi aren't just champions in their sports. They're people who've navigated pressure, setbacks, and the expectations of an entire generation. They have something to say about what it takes to become who you're meant to be. And that conversation — about mentorship, progress, and the next generation of difference-makers — was exactly the space Panasonic could authentically own.
The Work.  Champions for Progress paired Panasonic's Olympic athletes with their real-life fans — street-cast from among their most passionate followers. The films weren't about sport. They were about the transfer of inspiration: what happens when a champion takes a genuine interest in someone still figuring out their path.
Each film featured a different athlete — Phelps, Ledecky, Chen, Kokumi — each with a different story, a different fan, a different moment of connection. The campaign extended Panasonic's relationship with younger audiences beyond awareness into something more lasting: the feeling that this brand shows up for the people it believes in.
